FALL 2016 Lesson Policy
Please sign and return one copy.
Lessons consist of individual instrumental instruction for 1/2 hour per week (unless the student is enrolled for a 45 minute lesson). A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations and rescheduling. The student or parent must contact Ms. Faidley by phone or e-mail. Students and parents are asked to commit for the semester of lessons (example: September, October, November, December). Lesson schedules are revised in December, May and August for upcoming semesters.
A $100.00 per month fee is payable in full on or before the second regularly scheduled lesson of each month. (The fee for 45 minute lessons is $120.00) Please note: This is a monthly fee. No credit or refunds are given for a lesson which cannot be rescheduled. Makeup lessons will be scheduled on an “as available” basis. If payment has not been made by the second lesson of the month, a $20.00 late fee will be assessed.
Materials (reeds, accessories, method books, etc.) are to be purchased by the student. Reeds, music, and accessories may be purchased locally at Doctor Note
It is the responsibility of the student/parents to keep instruments in optimum playing condition as this can greatly affect progress. For repair work, I recommend Harold Steinhardt (Windmill Square shops at 97th & Metcalf). You can schedule an appointment with him directly at his website www.doctornote.net
Students should practice at home (band class not included) at least 4-5 times a week between lessons. The length of these practice sessions will range from 20-25 minutes for beginners to 45-60 minutes (or more) for high school/college students. The importance of regular practice is stressed. Try not to skip more than two days in a row without playing.
